TOYOTA｜Kaze no Wakusei (Planet of Wind)

Turning the record of the Five Continents Drive into entertainment. An interactive travel novel told through narration.

The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Five Continents Drive project, which began in 2014, took on the South America drive in 2016, its third time. “Kaze no Wakusei (Planet of Wind)” is a piece of entertainment born from the record of the cars’ journey across South America. The novel “Kaze no Wakusei” is a South American journey by a man who can no longer pronounce a certain word. The animation is a journey of one man driving a Land Cruiser across the world. The South America Drive 2016 is the journey of Toyota employees themselves feeling the road together with the cars across the South American continent. By using vivid, live footage shot during the drive project, it becomes content offering a rich viewing experience that makes you want to set off on a journey. The animation illustrations are by Tadanobu Asano. The narration of “Kaze no Wakusei” is by Takeru Satoh. The music was handled by Shigeru Kishida of Quruli.
