Set a theme, and walk the city: a record of the 2025 photo walks (Part 2)
Even walking the same city, the scenery you see isn’t the same. At mount, aiming to feed our design input and improve our shooting skills, we’ve kept up our photo walks since January 2025.

mount’s photo walk, where we walk the city with a camera using a single theme as our cue. In Part 1, we introduced the record from when we started up through spring. In Part 2, we look back on the photo walks from spring onward, shot while changing the theme and the city we walked.

Try changing your position
Round 4: “Low angle (looking up)”
For Round 4, the theme wasn’t the subject but the position from which you hold the camera.
“Low angle (looking up).”
From a spot lower than usual, we shot the things in the city while looking up at them.
Even familiar buildings and signboards, when the height and angle of shooting change,
shift in their size within the frame and their relationship to the sky.
In this round, Tom (@tomonorix0805) joined us as a guest, too.

Chasing signs and colors
Round 5: “Numbers”
Round 5’s theme was “numbers.”
House numbers, signboards, road markings. We walked searching for numbers in the city’s various places.
This time, Miyauchi of UNITBASE (@38inside) and Tom (@tomonorix0805) joined us as guests, too!

Some framed a single character large. Some captured the place where the number sat along with it. The numbers found in the city lined up as each person’s own photos.
Round 6: “Color walk”
Round 6 was a “color walk.”
Each person decided on a color to cover and searched the city for that color to shoot.
Someone searching for red.
Someone for blue.
Someone for green.
Even things in places normally unrelated, by chasing the same color and lining them up, come to look like one continuous set of photos.
We welcomed Nakamura of WAB (@nkmrkztk) and Tom (@tomonorix0805) as guests, and after shooting we held a get-together around the freshly taken shots!

The photos look like they’d be interesting whether grouped by color or lined up by who shot them. You can compare where in the city the same color was, and how each person framed it.
The photo walk’s past, and its future
Since starting in January 2025, our photo walks have walked the city on all sorts of themes.
Searching for signboards.
Finding round things.
Shooting spring.
Looking up from a lower position than usual.
Chasing numbers and colors.
Even a photo walk through the same city,
the theme changes, the photos that line up change too.
And a gathering that began with in-house members has,
little by little, come to include guests from outside as well.
Walking the city together, showing each other the photos we took.
Looking back on the posted photos and comments,
each round has left behind all sorts of scenery and words.
In this article, we’ve gathered the 2025 rounds.
The photo walks will continue from here.
